A manufacturer's engineering team was designing on individual laptops. Files lived wherever each engineer saved them, with nothing tracking versions or releases. The company wanted one source of truth for engineering data, secure remote access for engineers in several locations, and a platform that could grow well beyond its first team.
There was a lot to bring in: tens of terabytes of historical and active data and thousands of design files. As a public company, it also had to keep IT controls tight enough for its auditors.
